چکیده

Background: In case of comple transection facial nerve, it is unclear whether or not corticosteroids will be beneficial after nerve neurorrhaphy.
Aim: The purpose this systematic review was to determine are effective in promoting regeneration and functional recovery following complete Methods: Randomized controlled trials on human animal models from Ovid MEDLINE EMBASE that studied the efficacy total damage followed by neurorrhaphy. Electrophysiology, histology, were methods used evaluate results. On other hand, there no randomised experiment carried out humans. a clinical context, it's possible won't conduct involve histology.
Results: Six investigations with 248 participants met inclusion criteria. Electrophysiological results revealed differences between systemic controls terms latency amplitude. comparison topical corticosteroid control group histologic outcomes, axon diameter groups; however, had thicker myelin. Comparing placebo eye blinking, favoured placebo.
Conclusion: When analysing electrophysiologic outcomes models, study did demonstrate any benefits administrations neurorrhaphy transection.

The role of great auricular-facial nerve neurorrhaphy in facial nerve damage.

BACKGROUND Facial nerve is easy to be damaged, and there are many reconstructive methods for facial nerve reconstructive, such as facial nerve end to end anastomosis, the great auricular nerve graft, the sural nerve graft, or hypoglossal-facial nerve anastomosis. However, there is still little study about great auricular-facial nerve neurorrhaphy. The aim of the present study was to identify th...

Brief electrical stimulation after facial nerve transection and neurorrhaphy: a randomized prospective animal study

BACKGROUND Recent studies have examined the effects of brief electrical stimulation (BES) on nerve regeneration, with some suggesting that BES accelerates facial nerve recovery. However, the facial nerve outcome measurement in these studies has not been precise or accurate. The objective of this study is to assess the effect of BES on accelerating facial nerve functional recovery from a transec...

Hemihypoglossal-facial neurorrhaphy after mastoid dissection of the facial nerve: results in 24 patients and comparison with the classic technique.

OBJECTIVE Hypoglossal-facial neurorrhaphy has been widely used for reanimation of paralyzed facial muscles after irreversible proximal injury of the facial nerve. However, complete section of the hypoglossal nerve occasionally results in hemiglossal dysfunction and interferes with swallowing and speech. To reduce this morbidity, a modified technique with partial section of the hypoglossal nerve...

Intraparotid Neurofibroma of the Facial Nerve: A Case Report

Introduction: Intraparotid neurofibromas of the facial nerve are extremely rare and mostly associated with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). Case Report: This is a case of a healthy 40-year-old man, which underwent surgery for a preoperatively diagnosed benign parotid gland lesion. After identification of the facial nerve main trunk, a single large mass (6 x 3 cm) incorporating the upper nerve d...

Background: Recently, the "Disruptions in the Energy Field" have been omitted from the list of nursing diagnoses published by the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA). Therapeutic touch is a scientific nursing intervention. The aim of this systematic review was to identify the efficacy of therapeutic touch (TT) and investigate the tenability of omitting this diagnosis from the N...
